Anaarkali of Aarah Review By Vinay Gupta

You have seen Swara Bhaskar as a bubbly would be bride in Tanu Weds Manu and a frustrated aggressive one sided lover in Raanjhanaa; a housemaid who enlists herself in same class from her little girl in Nil Battey Sannata, and now, with her first solo film, Anarkali of Aarah, she is good to go to push the limits in the business in a never-seen symbol.

Written and Directed by Avinash Das, ‘Anaarkali of Aarah’ is the narrative of a sexual stage artist hailing from Arrah s small town of Bihar who is extremely certain of her prosperity. In any case, her life takes an emotional wind when her encounter with an intense man of the town takes after a genuine clash. Her battle against the misanthrope convictions of the general public, her undying soul to change individuals’ observations towards a young lady doing item numbers is what really matters to the story.

Shot generally in Bihar, debutante Avinash Das – in his first film as writer and director – has helmed a delicate subject, other than evoking some wonderful performances from his main caste. Cinematography by Arvind Kannabiran (My Brother Nikhil, NH10) is splendid. In spite of the fact that the closure is somewhat unexpected, Swara Bhaskar’s energetic execution and foam in the last song ‘Sa Ra’ sung by Pavni Pandey is effectively the highlight of the film.

My Verdict :  ‘Anaarkali of Aarah’ is an unforeseen winner that dazes you with its genuineness. It is about a lady, who battles to maintain her entitlement to nobility. Stunningly striking and thank God someone has figured out how to showcase this film in India
